The taper is deliberate. A 2.36″ base drops into a standard cup holder; the wider mouth keeps it easy to drink from and easy to clean. A mug that does not fit the vehicle is a mug that stays in the kitchen.
Sublimation, not a sticker.
The artwork is sublimated into the surface coating rather than printed on top of it, which is why it does not peel at the edges or fade to grey after a month in the cupboard. Hand washing still gives the longest life — dishwasher detergent is abrasive, and heat cycles are hard on any printed drinkware.
