No Fear of Flying.
The later of John B. Wells' two albums, and the one that carries his name across the top of the sleeve in plain black letters with the title sprayed under it in red. Sold here as the complete record.
Plenty of songwriters reach for flight as a metaphor. Very few of them are actually aviators. Wells is — and his voice carried Lockheed Martin's Joint Strike Fighter and F-22 Raptor projects, which is about as close to the subject as a singer is ever going to get. A title like this one, from this particular writer, is not borrowed imagery.
MP3 digital download. The sleeve and disc in the photographs are the original CD release, shown for the artwork. Nothing is shipped — you receive download links by email after checkout, and the files are yours to keep.
The other side of the voice.
Long before the Caravan, the voice that carries the broadcast was doing something else with itself. National film trailers, museum exhibits, and defence programmes — work that collected Emmy, Clio and Marconi awards. A composer, musician, writer, actor, martial arts instructor and aviator, described on his own site as a Renaissance man who savours the pursuit of knowledge from the arcane to the esoteric. The records are one more room in that house.
